2024 Birdies for Charity Fundraiser

Dear Friends,

We, the Sisters of the Living Word, are participating in John Deere’s BIRDIES FOR CHARITY for the seventh year and invite your support!

BIRDIES FOR CHARITY is a fundraiser held in conjunction with the John Deere Classic PGA Golf Tournament. Each one-time flat donation or pledge benefits the Sisters of the Living Word, plus John Deere will match 5-10%.

The proceeds from this fundraiser will support the care of our Senior Sisters, and well as our ongoing advocacy in several areas of social justice – homelessness, immigration, anti-human trafficking, and care of creation. 

Participating in this fundraiser is easy. You can donate directly through this link to the charity’s website, or print this form and send it in through the mail along with your one-time donation or to John Deere in the mail. (We have also sent a mailing with the physical pledge forms and return envelopes to SLW donors who participated in the fundraiser last year.)

After the tournament (July 1-7), you will be billed by the John Deere Classic for the total amount of your pledge. For example, if the PGA players make 1,500 “birdies” and your pledge is $.02 per “birdie,” you will be billed $30.00. Lastyear 2,041 “birdies” were made by the pros.

Donation/pledge forms must be returned to John Deere by June 26, 2024.
