Help Support the Sisters by Donating with John Deere’s Birdies for Charity!

The Sisters of the Living Word are participating in John Deere’s Birdies for Charity for the sixth year and invite your support!

Birdies for Charity is a fundraiser held in conjunction with the John Deere Classic PGA Golf Tournament (July 5-9). Each one-time flat donation or pledge benefits the Sisters of the Living Word, plus John Deere will match 5-10%. 

The proceeds from this fundraiser will support the forward-moving partnership we have created with the Wisconsin Religious Collaborative to ensure the ongoing efforts of our own ministries as well as our ongoing advocacy in several areas of social justice – homelessness, immigration, anti-human trafficking, and care of creation.  

Participating in this fundraiser is easy. Click here to print a form to send along with your one-time donation made to “Birdies for Charity” or your “birdies” guess (pledge) to the Birdies for Charity office at 15623 Colton Road, East Moline, IL 61244.

After the tournament (July 5-9), you will be billed by the John Deere Classic for the total amount of your pledge. For example, if the PGA players make 1,500 “birdies” and your pledge is $.02 per “birdie,” you will be billed $30.00. Last year 2,041 “birdies” were made by the pros. 

Donation/Pledge forms must be returned to John Deere by June 16, 2023. In addition to the good feeling you’ll get for helping the Sisters of the Living Word, one lucky supporter of the Birdies for Charity program will win a two-year lease on a 2023 Lexus NX, courtesy of Smart Lexus of Quad Cities.
